There are many short and clearly stated promises in the Bible to equip your every need (2 Pet.1:4 and 2 Cor. 1:20). Over the next few days, I’m going to list some of my favorites. Memorize them, meditate on them, and then apply them personally to your particular situation or need. Here’s the first one.
Finding God
“Thus says the Lord: ‘And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for me with all your heart.’” (Jer. 29:13)
“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” (Isa. 41:13)
So, you’ve made a huge mistake, and you don’t know what to do!
When you make a serious mistake caused by your own doing, bringing negative consequences as a result, and you cannot undo what happened, you can and must approach God for a remedy for it. He says to “Cast all your cares upon Him”, and that includes mistakes of any kind. King David new better, yet he sinned greatly, committing adultery with Bathsheba, and then he tried to cover it up by sending her husband, Uriah, to the front lines of battle to be killed (2 Sam. 11). It was deliberate sin, and he got caught when Nathan confronted him (2 Sam. 12:7-14). As terrible as it was, David repented (admitted his sin), and he turned back to God for forgiveness and restoration (Psalms 51).
Therefore

What do you like to talk about?
Everybody seems to be passionate about something and therefore excited to talk about it. Some people can quote a vast number of sports statistics, and others can tell you about things they love to talk about, such as drag racing, horse racing, model trains, and home remodeling. The list of possibilities is endless. Each person is excited about their “thing,” whatever that is. And there is nothing wrong with having a hobby or special interest as long as it doesn’t replace the energy and enthusiasm you must have for the Lord.
How strong is your love for God?
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30)
Now that’s a lot of love to show! Over the last few days, I’ve been talking about sharing Jesus with others. First, you can boldly speak to people; second, you can share your personal testimony; and/or you can hand them a gospel tract or book to read. Yesterday I told how I had found a gospel tract in an automobile glove box while out drinking with my friends. The next day, I had a terrible hangover, but I remembered what I had read about Jesus in that small booklet, and I prayed a prayer to receive Jesus. I don’t know who gave that tract to my friend. He just tossed it in his glove box, where I eventually found it. I’m grateful to whoever gave it to him, because it was there for me!
Therefore
I believe in using gospel tracts. It's an easy way to promote the gospel. You can give them to people, leave them in public places for people to find, or distribute them in many other ways. I have a business friend who sells automotive parts, and he includes a tract in every shipment. I leave one along with my tip. You never know where they might end up and how God may use them.

A blind man’s story
“One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” (John 9:25)
A way to share Christ is to simply tell what happened to you, like the blind man did in the passage above. He did not argue theology or answer any religious questions that they asked him. He just told them clearly what had happened to him: “I once was blind, but now I see.” It was simple, direct, and could not be argued with.
Use the KISS method
The KISS method is an acrostic that stands for Keep It Simple Silly. Someone put it this way, telling your testimony is as simple as one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.
I share my personal testimony often
When I have an opportunity to share, I briefly tell about the drinking problem I had years ago as an alcoholic, about being arrested and going to jail for being drunk and disorderly, and how my life back then was all about partying and booze. It was a mess.
Then one night, while out drinking with some friends, I found a little booklet in their car’s glovebox while looking for matches to light a cigarette. It was a gospel tract in the form of a little comic book that told about our sin nature and why Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for it. It told how we must admit our sin, turn away from it (repent), and pray a simple little prayer to receive Christ personally (John 1:12). The following day, while driving along with a severe hangover, I remembered what the booklet had said, and I prayed a heartfelt prayer and asked Jesus to forgive my sins and to be my Savior. At that moment, my life was instantly and dramatically changed! I was born again! I stopped drinking and smoking, and I started reading the Bible and going to church. Since then, God has led me into ministry and has blessed me in too many ways to keep count. I love the Bible verse that says, “And my God shall supply your every need according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19). And He does, always!
You can do the same
Here is a little 3 part plan I use to help people prepare their personal testimony.
1) Tell briefly what your life was like prior to receiving Christ. Tell about problem you we’re dealing with, or about an addiction, or about loneliness, or something else (just choose one of them).
2) Tell how you were introduced to Christ. What happened. How and what you prayed to receive Him. Make it crystal clear.
3) Tell briefly what your life has been like since receiving Christ. Perhaps share a Scripture verse you’ve found helpful and meaningful.
Therefore
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14 ESV)

Could you?
If someone were to look you in the eye and sincerely ask you this question: “How do I become a Christian?” Could you answer them clearly and biblically? Most people, even most Christians, fail in this respect. That’s too bad! It’s not a hard question to answer. The verse at the top says to “always be prepared”, so how do you do that? First, learn what the Bible says about how to receive Christ. Once you understand how, practice turning to those Bible passages quickly when sharing with someone. I find it helpful to underline the verses with a pen so they are easily seen on the page.
