Day 24, GIFT #24 – Give the gift of good news of great joy

This good news gift is for all the people, and yes, this includes you, too!

“But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.” (Luke 2:10)

“You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.” (Luke 1:14)

And the wonderful thing is that you can make it possible for others to experience this joy as well by simply sharing this good news with them!

One of my favorite songs to sing during Christmas time, "Go Tell It on the Mountain" is an African-American spiritual song, compiled by John Wesley Work, Jr., and says it very well. “Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born.”

And, of course, when you tell people about this good news, just like the angels did on that first Christmas morning, it brought great joy to both those who heard it as well as those who proclaimed it.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, 'Your God reigns.'” (Isaiah 52:7)
