Acknowledge the good things in you in Christ Jesus
“That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” (Philemon 1:6 NKJV)
The Bible tells us to “acknowledge the good things in you in Christ Jesus.” I believe it is a powerful thing to do! Many Christians are ignorant about who they are in Christ Jesus, so they behave weak and powerless, even though they actually are not! In fact, the Bible says the same power that raised Christ from the dead is inside them! (Rom. 6:10).
Open your eyes and understand!
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.” (Eph. 1:18 NIV)
Look at what the scriptures say about you!
- A new creation - “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (3 Cor. 5:17 ESV)
- A chosen race - “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9 ESV)
- His workmanship - “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Eph. 2:10 ESV)
- A child of God - “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12 ESV)
- The righteousness of God - “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21 ESV)
- A son of God - “For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.” (Gal. 3:26 ESV)
- A friend of God - “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 25:15 ESV)
- A child of light - “For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.” (2 Thes. 5:5 ESV)
- An ambassador to Christ - “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Cor. 5:20 ESV)
- A fellow heir with Christ - “And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Rom. 8:17 ESV)
- A powerful witness for God - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 ESV)
- The aroma of Christ – “For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” (2 Cor. 2:15 ESV)
- Have the mind of Christ – “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” (3 Cor. 2:16 ESV)
- God’s fellow worker – “For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.” (2 Cor. 3:9 ESV)
