God has given you grace upon grace!
“And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” (John 1:16 ESV).
We need to be aware of what God has already provided so we don’t repeatedly ask Him for what He has already given. Over the last few days and continuing over the next few, I’m sharing some of them with you. Here is another one.
Grace
Grace defined: The free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
Grace is free to you through Jesus
“Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son.” (Eph. 1:6 NIV)
“But by the free gift of God’s grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free (Rom. 3:24 NIV)
By grace through faith
For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it. (Eph. 2:8-9 NIV)
You are not under law but under grace
“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” (Rom. 6:14 ESV)
By grace and not by works
“But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.” (Rom. 11:6 ESV)
“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.” (1 Cor. 15:10 ESV)
Saved to a holy calling by grace
“Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.” (2Tim. 1:9 ESV)
Excel in the act of grace
“But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.” (2 Cor. 8:7 ESV)
