Children are a reward, blessing and joy

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.” (Psalms 127:3-5 ESV)

Train them in the way they should go

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6 ESV)

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Eph. 6:4 ESV)

Children walking in the Lord bring joy

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” (3 John 1:4 ESV)

“The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.” (Prov. 23:24 ESV)

Grandchildren are the crown of the aged
