A sure foundation in Christ

“Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation…” (Isa. 28:16 ESV)

Foundation: base, bedrock, bottom, cornerstone, footing, root, underpinning, anchorage, brace, bulwark, buttress, infrastructure, mount, prop, substratum, substructure, support

The foundation is Jesus Christ

“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor. 3:11 ESV)

God’s firm foundation stands

“But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim. 2:19 ESV)

Therefore…

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
