When faced with a mountain
“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’” (Zech. 4:7)
Mountains quake before Him
“The mountains quake before Him, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles at His presence--the world and all its dwellers.” (Nahum 1:5)
Mountains are no problem for God
“For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!” (Amos 4:13 ESV)
“In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.” (Psalm 94:5 ESV)
“Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, you who devastate the whole earth, declares the LORD. I will stretch out My hand against you; I will roll you over the cliffs, and turn you into a charred mountain.” (Jer. 51:25)
“…the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.” (Psalm 114:4)
God’s unfailing love stands true though the mountains be shaken
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.” (Isa. 54:10 NIV)
Therefore…
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” (Mark 11:23 NIV)
“Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff.” (Isa. 41:15 ESV)
“Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; the uneven ground will become smooth, and the rugged land a plain.” (Isa. 40:4)
And remember this…
“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” (1 Cor. 13:2 NIV)
Quote:
“Purposes, plans, and achievements of men may all disappear like yon cloud upon the mountain's summit; but, like the mountain itself, the things which are of God shall stand fast for ever and ever.” - Charles Spurgeon
