When feeling partial or prejudiced
“For God shows no partiality.” (Rom. 2:11 ESV)
Prejudice: bias, one-sidedness, partiality.
God looks at the heart
“The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Sam. 16:7 NIV)
God does not tolerate partiality
“The LORD our God does not tolerate perverted justice, partiality, or the taking of bribes.” (2 Chron. 19:7 NLT)
Show no partiality as you hold the faith
“My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.” (James 2:1 ESV)
Therefore…
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Gal. 3:28 ESV)
“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (John 7:24 ESV)
“You will be doing the right thing if you obey the law of the Kingdom, which is found in the scripture, ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ But if you treat people according to their outward appearance, you are guilty of sin, and the Law condemns you as a lawbreaker.” (Jam. 2:8-9 GNB)
“For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Rom. 10:12-13 ESV)
Quote:
“I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.” – Peter (Acts 10:34-35 ESV)
