When serving the Lord

“Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.” (1 Sam.  12:24 ESV)

Do your work heartily as for the Lord not for men

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ (Col. 3:23-24 ESV)

Do not be double minded in your service to the Lord

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” (Matt. 6:24 ESV)

“You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.” (Deut. 13:4 ESV)

“If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.” (John 12:26 ESV)

There is a distinction between those who serve God and those who do not

“Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.” (Mal. 3:18 ESV)

 Therefore…

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Col. 3:17 ESV)

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Cor. 15:58 ESV)
