Hearing the Word

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 ESV)

 Faith comes from hearing the Word

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Rom. 10:17 ESV)

Hear the word of God, keep it, and you will be blessed!

“But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” - Jesus (Luke 11:28 ESV)

 The Word of God is at work 

“And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.” (1 Thess. 2:13 ESV)

The Word is living and active

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12 ESV)

 The Word is able to build you up

“And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32 ESV)
