God gives inner peace of mind to de-stress you
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
This wonderful promise from Jesus is followed by His instructions given in the form of a command. Notice that he says, “Do not let” and “Do not be” which means that you have control over peace, trouble, and fear within your heart. In another passage, Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). Yes, as long as you’re in this world you may be visited, even attacked by these things, but you can take charge and control them. You can keep them from controlling you!
Come to Jesus whenever these things happen
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Mat. 11:28)
Instructions
Do not be Anxious — “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7)
Let the peace of Christ rule — “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Col. 3:15)
Therefore
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7)
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 15:13)
