Names of God
“The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.” (Psalm 118:22 NKJV)
God has many names and titles in the Bible. Each one tells us something important about Him—His character and how He relates to us. And how we must relate to Him. Here is another one of His many Names, which is Chief Cornerstone.
Jesus is the foundation of His church
A cornerstone is often used to describe Jesus in the Bible and the reason for that is because Jesus is the foundation and the most important part of building His Church.
“This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’” (Acts 4:11)
Therefore
Jesus Christ, Himself, is our Chief Cornerstone.
“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” (Eph. 2:19-22)
