“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer. 29:11)

One of the greatest gifts God has given us is hope. That is what his thousands of wonderful promises throughout the Bible are designed to do – inspire hope. It gives us the ability to look at any situation and know that regardless of how it may appear God is going to come through. This is the essence of what hope is.

We have a living hope through Jesus

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” (1 Peter 1:3)

What to do

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Heb. 10:13)

“Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.” (Psalm 33:22)

Therefore 

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Rom. 15:13)
