“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
The Word is Jesus
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 ESV)
Living and Active
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12 ESV)
According to the above passage we learn a lot of things about God’s powerful Word: It’s living, active, and sharp. It divides the soul and spirit. It divides joints and marrow. And it discerns the intentions of the heart; all good reasons to put it to work in your life.
Therefore
“My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” (Prov. 4:20-22 ESV)
